Evaluation and Research

Our evaluation is lived experience-led. We are peer and lived experience researchers ourselves, we train peer researchers, and we can build that capacity within your organisation, so you are left with tools and skills, not only a report. We keep the people your work is for at the centre, which gives you findings that are rigorous and true to their experience.

Measurement forms the building blocks that help you strategise, evolve, and grow your programmes and initiatives. When we work with you towards the end of a project, we want you to give greater consideration to what you measure and why, to understand your own tools and indicators and how useful they are, and to be better able to assemble the stories that carry the most weight.

We can help by reviewing what you do, evaluating your programmes, building high-impact strategies, and training your staff to carry the work forward. We can also help you measure for yourself and not just your current funders, because if you are only collecting data for the funder you have, you are not collecting for your next one.

A recent example: The Magpie Project

We evaluated the first five years of a small charity supporting women and children, to uncover where it was having the most impact. We kept the voices of the women at the centre of the evaluation, used creative tools to track the changes seen in the children from their first contact through to leaving the service, and left the charity with an evaluation framework and tools that embed into its everyday activities, so it can keep evidencing its impact for current and future funders.
